The River Allan, runs from the Ochil Hills East of Blackford and flows South following the A9 main road. The river flows through areas such as Greenloaning, Kinbuck, Ashfield, Dunblane and Bridge of Allan. The river then meets with the river Forth in Cornton, Stirling.

Season:

Salmon & Seatrout 15th March – 31st October

Brown Trout 15th March – 6th October

Please note that the AWAIA operates the fishing from the very upper limit at Greenloaning road bridge (A822) below the River Knaik and the Allan Water, all the way down to the tidal waters near the confluence with the River Forth.

There are restricted areas of fishing along the bank areas. The restricted areas are privately owned and not within the AWAIA fishing permit, so please take note of these “no fishing” areas. You can find more information regarding this on the Fishing around the Forth website.

Greenloaning Upper Limit – reserved for full season permit holders only
Balhaldie Upper Limit – for day permit AWAIA anglers and full members.
